I could've gone when I was younger. Eh, more like I probably would've HAD to go, but I sort of. Left. Had a dream and staying where I was didn't seem like it was gonna get me anywhere, so I hopped a couple of ships and eventually ended up on the Orbit -- that was the cruise ship. Lucky for me, they put me to work instead of kicking me off. Shit, I was probably 8 or 9 or something?
I had a lady teach me basic stuff before that. Letter and numbers and stuff. And then the old geezer at the restaurant kept it up there. Just never really actually been to SCHOOL, you know?
Perhaps you would have. Education does seem to be mandatory in many places. Eight years old is very young.
[But then again, Carlo had been around that age when she met him.]
I am glad that you were lucky with the Orbit though. I am sure you do not have to go to school if you do not wish to. I go because I wish to know more, to know things I was never able to back home. And school is not the only place to learn, after all. You also learn from friends, from people that you speak with, and sometimes by trying and doing and failing.
Yeah, of course! I learned most of what I needed to on the Baratie from that old geezer -- about cooking and everything else. But even then, I'm still picking up new recipes and shit all the time, especially in a place like this. Never really STOP learning, I guess!
Precisely. Learning is not limited only to schools. Cooking and knowing so many recipes is truly amazing. The servants were always so very skilled that I had hoped to learn how to cook too. Of course, it is still difficult sometimes but I am learning all the time, as well.

Math, biology, geography, history, art and any other classes that are being offered and which I have the time to take.
[And this isn't counting in the time she likes to spend at the library where she reads everything she can find.]

Sounds like you got a heavy load, though. Good luck with all that!
